The Blackout
Taco Bell asked us to launch their new mobile app. So instead of screaming about a way to get Chalupas 30 seconds faster, we did what anybody else would do to get the attention of a brand’s millions of social media fans. We shut down all their social media.
To show the world that the new way to Taco Bell was Only In The App, we went dark everywhere else. Twitter? The account was removed. Instagram? Gone. Facebook? See ya. We even turned the homepage off.

Taco Bell needed an informative piece to tell their customers how to use their new app. But tutorial videos are boring. So how do you make one for a brand that does anything but boring? We started by finding an influencer that had the ear of our target. After that all we had to do was write him a character and a script, and let him show us the app. The result is an entertaining 90 second walk and talk, where if you’re not careful, you might accidentally learn something.
